the womb as your creative source

I was just collecting stock images and inspiration for illustrations for a brand cycle guide I’m currently working on. I was diving into the chapter where I explore the womb, not just as a biological organ, but as a source of creativity in all its forms. And when I searched the keyword “womb,” what popped up? Only pregnant bellies, and ultrasound photos. Don’t get me wrong, I adore these images. They are beautiful, miraculous. But it got me frustrated and thinking: how is it that when we hear “womb,” we only think about it being an reproductive organ. How is it that we know so little about the everyday power the womb carries? The power that fuels our ideas, our projects, our businesses, our relationships, and even our wildest dreams?

Every bold idea, every soulful project, every step of your solopreneurial journey originates in this sacred, potent space. And yet, most women barely feel it. Or even realise she is there, trying to guide us. We’ve been taught to think of it only in terms of birth, not as a daily source of power. But your womb is alive with energy every day, guiding your intuition, fuelling your creativity, and connecting you to your deepest desires.

why your womb matters for your business

Think of your business not as a separate entity, but as an extension of your creative self. When you connect to your womb, you’re tapping into a natural source of flow and innovation.

  • When you’re aligned with your womb energy, inspiration flows easily and effortlessly.

  • Instead of forcing decisions or freezing, you begin to trust your inner guidance.

  • Clients, collaborators, and opportunities are drawn to your authentic (and sexy!) energy.

  • The womb holds you through doubt, stress, and challenges, giving you the strength to start again and again (she is the goddess of death and rebirth)

how to (re)connect with your womb space

Connecting with your womb is less about “doing” and more about feeling. Here are some ways to start:

1. Place your hands on your belly

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and simply rest your hands over your womb. Notice the warmth, the rhythm, the subtle energy. You don’t need to “make” anything happen, feeling her is enough.

2. Journal from your womb

Ask your womb questions like, What do you want me to create? What feels alive right now? Then write without censoring. Let the answers flow from your body, not your head.

3. Move and awaken your energy

Dance, sway, or stretch in ways that let your body lead. Let the energy rise from your womb, flowing into your limbs, your heart, and your mind. Movement awakens the creative current.

4. Align with your cycle

Your menstrual cycle is a natural rhythm that mirrors creation itself. Notice when you feel expansive and creative, when you need to reflect, when you shine, and when it’s time to rest. Planning business tasks around these phases allows you to work with your energy instead of against it. Read my recent blog post touching more on this here.

5. Bring ritual into your work

Light a candle, breathe, or set intentions at the start of a project or workday. Treat your business as a sacred creation, one that grows out of your womb, not just urgency and your to-do list.

Remember, your womb is not only the source of life – it is the source of your creative life. Every project, every idea, every bold move in your business flows from this space. When you begin to honour it, listen to it, and work with it, your business transforms from a task-oriented endeavour into a living, breathing extension of your most authentic self.

So place your hands on your belly. Breathe into that space. Feel the energy waiting there. And let your next creation — whether it’s a project, a product, or a wild new business idea — be born from you, from her.
